The pattern repeat platte berlin was created during an advanced textile design course themed “Berlin as a pattern repeat” in summer term 2010 during my foundation year at the KHB. The three-week course was coached by the textile designer Jenny Pilz.
Architecture is the stage of urban living. It expresses the character and face of a city or a district. Residential areas with buildings made of precast concrete slabs appear to be abstract, dull and soul-less. Mostly due to their uniform look.
